Pilot Gear Chosen for the Cockpit
The right headset is more than an accessory. It helps reduce fatigue, protect hearing, improve radio clarity, and make each lesson easier to debrief and build on.
Our pilot store focuses on equipment that fits real training needs, from first lessons through advanced ratings. Browse available Lightspeed headsets, compare key features, and send a product request when you are ready for help choosing the best fit.
Aviation Headsets
Speedway is an authorized reseller for Lighspeed. Their headsets are built for pilots who want a quieter, more comfortable cockpit with dependable ANR performance, Bluetooth connectivity, and training-friendly features. Explore the lineup below to find the model that matches your desired flight experience.
Lightspeed Delta Zulu®
$1,299.00
Delta Zulu is the top-tier Lightspeed ANR headset for pilots who want more than quiet audio. It combines Lightspeed’s active noise reduction, a comfortable low-clamp fit, Bluetooth, and a set of safety-focused features that are especially helpful in piston aircraft and training environments.
Safety Tools Built Into the Headset
The built-in carbon monoxide sensor monitors cabin CO levels and gives audible alerts through the headset. CO exposure can be subtle in flight: fatigue, headache, confusion, or reduced alertness may be easy to mistake for ordinary discomfort until the risk is already serious.
Custom Audio For Clearer Calls
HearingEQity® creates a hearing profile from a 12-frequency test and adjusts the headset’s audio response around that profile. The practical benefit is clearer radio work: ATC calls, intercom conversation, and instructor feedback can be easier to pick out without simply turning everything louder.
App Support Without App Dependency
The Lightspeed app can display CO data, manage headset settings, create hearing profiles, record cockpit audio, and help with post-flight review. The headset can still operate as an ANR headset without the app, and saved safety/audio settings remain stored in the headset after setup.
Power And Connectivity
Delta Zulu includes interchangeable battery magazines, so pilots can use the rechargeable lithium-ion pack or switch to AA batteries when needed. The UAC connection supports charging, audio, and data transmissions, and the headset can be charged from compatible USB power while flying.
Pilot-Friendly Details
Bluetooth supports phone and audio use, while ComPriority lowers auxiliary audio when radio or intercom audio comes through. The design is built for long sessions with premium materials, durable construction, and Lightspeed’s 7-year limited warranty.
Sierra
$749.00
Sierra is the value ANR headset in the Lightspeed lineup. It gives pilots a quieter cockpit, Bluetooth capability, and comfortable everyday usability without stepping into the higher price points of the Zulu and Delta Zulu models.
ANR at a Practical Price
Sierra targets the low-frequency engine and cabin noise that can make long lessons tiring. For student pilots, that quieter environment can make radio work, instructor communication, and fatigue management noticeably easier.
Comfortable And Flexible
At about 16 ounces, Sierra is still light enough for regular training use. Plush ear seals help with comfort, and the reversible microphone can be moved to either side, a helpful feature when pilots have strong preferences or aircraft layout makes one side easier.
Bluetooth And Review Tools
Bluetooth allows phone and audio connection, while the FlightLink app recording support can be used to capture cockpit audio for debriefing. Quite useful when learning radio cadence, phraseology, and checklist flow.
Ready For Training
Dual GA configuration, AA battery operation, and the usual pilot-ready accessories makes it a dependable headset for your training. Sierra is made in the USA, and carries a 5-year limited warranty.
Zulu 3
$949.00
Zulu 3 focuses on the essentials pilots care about in every flight: quiet audio, a comfortable fit, Bluetooth connectivity, and materials that hold up to repeated cockpit use.
Premium ANR Without Extra Complexity
At about 14.6 ounces, Zulu 3 keeps the headset light while still delivering strong active noise reduction. Tapered ear seals create a comfortable and natural fit while helping with active noise reduction (ANR).
Built To Travel
The stainless steel and magnesium construction gives Zulu 3 a sturdy feel without making it heavy. Kevlar-core cables add durability to one of the places headsets tend to deteriorate the most while being handled, packed, unplugged, and moved between aircraft.
Connectivity And Recording
Bluetooth supports phone and audio use, and an auxiliary input gives pilots another way to bring in audio when needed. ComPriority reduces auxiliary audio when intercom or radio communication comes through, so entertainment or alerts do not compete with essential cockpit communication.
Helpful Training Features
Helpful recording features with the FlightLink app allow the user to capture radio calls and intercom audio for review after a flight. In addition, Auto Shutoff helps preserve batteries by automatically shutting down the headset when not in use, a simple but useful feature in busy training operations.
Included Gear
Zulu 3 includes the expected pilot-ready accessories, including a carrying case and connection cables, and is backed by Lightspeed’s 7-year limited warranty.
Zulu 4
$1,099.00
Zulu 4 is the active noise reduction (ANR) choice for pilots who want a quieter cockpit, a comfortable fit, and updated connectivity in a traditional aviation headset. It is a good fit when you want many of the newest comfort and audio improvements, but do not need Delta Zulu’s carbon monoxide sensor or hearing-profile system.
Comfort for Real Flying Conditions
FrameFit ear seals are designed to seal more comfortably around glasses, hats, and headwear. That detail matters on longer flights: a better seal helps both comfort and ANR performance, especially when eyewear normally creates a small gap around the ear cup.
Updated Bluetooth And Audio
Zulu 4 supports dual Bluetooth connections and improved outgoing Bluetooth audio, making phone calls and connected device use cleaner from the cockpit. ComPriority lowers auxiliary audio when radio or intercom audio becomes active, helping important communications stay in front.
Refined For Daily Use
Lightspeed refined practical details such as the microphone boom, cable feel, and panel-power behavior. Panel-powered versions can use AA batteries as a backup.
Recording and review support
App-based cockpit recording can help students and instructors review radio calls, clearances, and in-flight decisions after the lesson. Used well, that turns the headset into part of the debrief rather than just something worn during the flight.
Warranty
Zulu 4 is built as a long-term headset with durable materials, premium ANR performance, and a 7-year limited warranty.
